Guided Tour of the Generalife Gardens and Alcazaba at the Alhambra

The Alhambra is far more than its famous palaces. The Generalife gardens reveal an Islamic landscape architecture that dazzles in every season, while the Alcazaba the oldest part of the complex offers from its Torre de la Vela one of the most unforgettable panoramic views of Granada and the Sierra Nevada.

The tour departs from Paseo de la Sabika 15, next to Hotel Guadalupe, just 100 metres from the monument's entrance. Groups are capped at 30 people and led throughout by an expert local guide specialising in Nasrid history, available in Spanish and English, and also in French, German and Italian with a minimum of 8 participants in that language.

What you'll see and experience

• The Alcazaba: the oldest military fortification of the Alhambra, with sweeping views over Granada and the Sierra Nevada from the Torre de la Vela.
• Generalife Palace and Gardens: the summer residence of the Nasrid sultans, surrounded by Islamic landscape gardens filled with fountains, cypress trees and flowering parterres.
• Palace of Charles V: the striking Renaissance building set within the Alhambra hill, unique in style among the monument's structures.

Important information

• Meeting point: Paseo de la Sabika 15, next to Hotel Guadalupe, 100 metres from the main entrance.
• Original ID (national ID or passport) is required to access the monument.
• Comfortable footwear is strongly recommended. In summer, bring sun protection.
• French, Italian and German require a minimum of 8 participants booked in that language; if not reached, the tour will be conducted in Spanish or English.
• The order of the visit may be modified by the Alhambra Board of Trustees.
• Keep your ticket with you throughout the entire visit.
• Not suitable for wheelchair users.
