Description

Córdoba was during the 10th century the most populous city in western Europe and the capital of the Umayyad caliphate, a center of political, religious and cultural power that left the city with an architectural mark unparalleled on the Iberian Peninsula. This full-day excursion from Granada tours its historic center, declared World Heritage, with an expert guide throughout the entire route, with all entrance fees included and without the need to manage access or queues.

The day begins with pickup in Granada and coach transfer to Córdoba. Our visit to the Mezquita-Catedral opens the route, the most important Islamic monument in the western world with its 856 marble columns and its two-tone ashlar arches. From there our itinerary descends into the Barrio Judío, the set of whitewashed alleys that preserves the only medieval synagogue in Andalusia, and continues along Calle de las Flores to Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos, a fortress that accumulates Roman, Visigothic and Arab layers in its walls. The day includes lunch at a local restaurant and free time to explore the old town before the return to Granada.
